Coverify

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about customizing your Kindle with Coverify.

What is Coverify?

Coverify is a free online tool that transforms any image into a Kindle-optimized screensaver. It generates a minimal EPUB file with your image as the cover. When you enable "Show covers on lock screen" on your Kindle, your custom artwork displays whenever the device sleeps.

How do I install the screensaver on my Kindle?

You have several easy options: 1) Use our "Send to Kindle" feature to deliver it directly to your device, 2) Connect your Kindle via USB and drag the .epub file into the "documents" folder, or 3) Email the file to your Kindle's unique email address (found in Settings > My Account).

How do I enable cover art on my Kindle lock screen?

On your Kindle, navigate to Settings > Screen and Brightness > Show covers on lock screen. Toggle this on. Note: Ad-supported Kindles may require paying to remove ads for this feature to work.

Why does my image look different on Kindle?

Kindle screens use e-ink technology with 16 shades of gray. Coverify automatically applies advanced Floyd-Steinberg dithering and contrast adjustments to ensure your color images translate beautifully to this medium. The preview shows you exactly how it will look.

Which Kindle devices are supported?

We support all modern Kindle e-readers including Kindle Paperwhite (all generations), Kindle Oasis, Kindle Scribe, and the basic Kindle. You can select your specific model to get pixel-perfect resolution matching your device.

Is Coverify really free to use?

Your first screensaver is completely free — no watermarks, no catch. After that, you can buy conversion credits whenever you need them for $0.99 each. Credits never expire, so you only pay for the screensavers you actually make.

Do I need to create an account?

No. You can create screensavers instantly without signing in. Creating an account is optional and gives you access to features like conversion history, Gallery with bulk uploads, and one-click "Send to Kindle" delivery.

How long are my files stored?

For your privacy, all uploaded images and generated files are automatically deleted after 7 days. If you need a file again after that, simply upload your image and create a new screensaver.

What image formats are supported?

Coverify supports JPG, PNG, and WebP images. For best results, use high-resolution images with good contrast. The maximum file size is 10MB per image.

How does "Send to Kindle" work?

When you sign in and add your Kindle email address in Settings, we can send your screensaver directly to your device via Amazon's Send to Kindle service. Your screensaver will appear in your Kindle library within minutes. Make sure to add our sending address to your approved email list in Amazon settings.
