Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about customizing your Kindle with Coverify.
What is Coverify?
Coverify is a tool that transforms any image into a Kindle-optimized screensaver. It generates a minimal EPUB file with your image as the cover. When you enable "Show covers on lock screen" on your Kindle, your custom artwork displays whenever the device sleeps.
How do I install the screensaver?
You have two easy options: 1) Connect your Kindle via USB and drag the .epub file into the "documents" folder, or 2) Use "Send to Kindle" by emailing the file to your device's unique email address (found in Settings > My Account).
How do I enable cover art?
On your Kindle, navigate to Settings > Screen and Brightness > Show covers on lock screen. Toggle this on. Note: Ad-supported Kindles may require paying to remove ads for this feature to work.
Why does my image look different?
Kindle screens use e-ink technology with 16 shades of gray. Coverify automatically applies advanced dithering and contrast adjustments to ensure your color images translate beautifully to this medium.
Which devices are supported?
We support all modern e-readers including Kindle Paperwhite (all gens), Oasis, Scribe, and the basic Kindle. You can select your specific model to get pixel-perfect resolution.
Is it really free?
Yes. Coverify is open source and free. We believe simple tools should remain simple and accessible.
Do I need an account?
No. You can create screensavers instantly as a guest. Logging in is optional and only serves to save your conversion history.
How long are files kept?
For privacy, all generated files are automatically deleted after 7 days.
